Having scored 1285 on the geek test here I'm officially a level 5 geek.

How about you?

I got a minus number too - thank god :-))

You made that number up didn't you?

Oh dear - I'm also a level five geek. It was the Doctor Who section that did it...

I used to be a level 4 Geek, (685), but apparently I got better. I'm now a modest 280. Playing less RPGs apparently does it. Also my all night gaming session on New Years Eve 2000 is now more than 2 years ago.

And everyone should have a dice bag.

Yikes, even I only got 720.

*pokes the geek*

What kind of self-respecting geek would take an online test that requires a *pencil*?

Don't you have a few in your shirt pocket!!?!

Give-away dot-com shirts don't *have* pockets.

485... I think it's the clothes and the showering which really helped my case.

I used Notepad. I got 1545, and that was after having to subtract 440 points. @_@

I would have slightly less points if they wrote "showered or bathed" rather than just "showered". It's hard to read a sourcebook in the shower, dammit.

770 / Level 4.

Pencils? Excel? I kept track in my head.

LOL! thanks... the outside does not match the innards I suppose. I have been told that a lot.

i figured most would use notepad. It seems to be an engrained instinct for some of you. heh.

Well, it's not so much having to find a pencil as having to do work a computer could do. Geeks don't *do* that.

885 pts: Level 4 geek. Admittedly not terribly surprising for someone who writes RPGs for a living :)

Well certainly... the innards are probably more stunning.

1275 / Level 5. Damn all my negative points. Most of my positive points came from the huge number of programming languages that I know and use.

And I kept track on my fingers and toes. (I can count up to 1599 on them.)

Quoting from the man page, "An arbitrary precision calculator language". Basically, a command-line calculator utility that also allows statements in a C-like language. The nifty thing is the "arbitrary precision" bit. If you ask for 10000!, it'll give you all 12 screensful of digits for the answer.
(Ummm, mainly a Unix thing, but probably available for other OSes these days ... )

The numbers 4, 128, and 132 are the most interesting.

Holy Crap!

Well, now I feel quite ashamed - I scored 125. well done to those who got a minus score! I've never been a huge Dr Who fan, which saved me, and I only know what I allow Joe to tell me about RPG and LARP, and most of the time I'm not listening, so that helped.

I'm only a Level 0 geek (and a very low Level 0, at that, with only 205) points, and quite a few of my points were acquired simply through association with my husband.

I feel so ... left out!

I got 1305 - Level 5

I may have overdone the programming languages, my Prolog's probably a bit rusty, and I don't think I got very far with Assembly anyway...
And okay, I haven't touched my Heroquest minatures in years, that boosted me a bit.

Oh wait, I can add an extra hundred for guessing what it's based on...

I'm guessing.

This is my guessing-face.

Only if I had such fine control over each toe... I don't.

And I have a hard time converting to and from binary. Nope. I count in decimal, mostly. (Decimal on my hands, binary on my feet. Big toe - little toes for two bits of info on each foot.)

I'm level 3 but drop to level 2 because of my pesky habit of foreign travel

Also, was rather peeved that there was no option for 'met significant other through roleplaying' because if there were I could have made up that loss no problem. (Although it was more than two years ago.)

Woah. I bow to your Jedi moves Master Ducker. I scored a measely 760.

And speaking of miniatures, I have not one but *two* copies of Talisman (you know, that board game that half the Loungers would play solidly around exam time at university) - a slightly battered original print 1st edition and the recently released limited reprint which also turns out to be 1st edition (I was expecting a reprint of the 4th edition?)... know anyone who wants a copy before I Ebay one of them?

FYI - I used Notepad and totalled my scores using the calculator on my PDA :-)
