Offhand, I'm trying to think of how many Republicans were re-elected because of a war... Lessee.. George Bush got bounced out like Churchill once that was over... Nixon stopped the Vietnam war, got re-elected... Kennedy and Roosevelt were re-elected, but both are Democrats... Ooh, I know! Abraham Lincoln!
