Date: 2003-12-22 04:35 am (UTC)Assuming THIS version bears more resemblance to 'the truth' (at first glance, it all seems pretty plausible) - is anyone really surprised?
I wonder what deal the Kurds got that made it more worth handing him over alive. And why they think they'll actually get whatever it is.

Date: 2003-12-22 09:27 am (UTC)The President said: "The success of yesterday's mission is a tribute to our men and women now serving in Iraq. The operation was based on the superb work of intelligence analysts who found the dictator's footprints in a vast country. The operation was carried out with skill and precision by a brave fighting force."
I know, you say, "you're surprised that there was Spin?" And I'm not, really. But, there's a line between spin and outright lying, and this administration has (IMHO) consistantly crossed that line. And even though it's consistant, it's a slap in the face every time it happens.
One would think that someone would care about that line. Have we grown that cynical, or that apathetic?
