Date: 2025-11-17 01:34 pm (UTC)Looking ahead, if we build the second line soon we can expect about 5 years after that for Line 1 to be extended, 5 years after that a 3rd line, 5 years after that Line 2 to be extended and then 5 years after that Line 3 to be extended. That starts to get you in to a small but useful light rail system with an option on the South Suburban tram-train still to come.

My guess is that a lot of the value comes from linking the relatively less well-off and under-developed north shore with the south of the city.
But I'm in favour of incremental build out if that means a build out occurs.
