Date: 2024-12-19 10:47 am (UTC)I remember when a bus had a driver and a conductor; sounds as if the captain serves a similar role.
Since it is an experiment they still have a driver who can take over if necessary, but I guess he will go when the experiment is declared a success and the lawyers are happy.

Date: 2024-12-19 10:51 am (UTC)And yes, the driverless bus was clearly more for testing than it was for actually carrying people. I'm not sure who is doing the testing, but they seem to be significantly behind other driverless vehicle organisations.

Date: 2024-12-19 06:53 am (UTC)This "dark empathy" thing is just an excessively melodramatic way to describe the rather basic fact that understanding how or why other people feel the way they do has never been the same as agreeing or even sympathising with them.
