Simples. Most bosses are control freaks who think they know best. And they don't trust their staff. And their firm (like all the others) is unique!

Speaking as someone who's been a boss on a very small scale, being a boss can be lonely. This doesn't mean forcing people back to the office is a good idea in any sense, but I don't think you've got a complete understanding of the motivations.

Sure, I can appreciate that lonely factor, if you're a people person (I guess many bosses are).

I'm just not sure I'd prioritise alleviating that for myself over company effectiveness and employee satisfaction and retention - all of which make for a more profitable business.

6. Because they're never the ones who have to work in the chicken barn nightmare they've created with no fixed places and full of neurotypicals eating smelly food loudly and talking about football. They have their own office.

But have regular or semi-regular meetings with an agenda shared beforehand? God forbid. Organisation and rational discussion don't contribute to team spirit. Just keep the proles locked up in a room all day instead.

Sorry. As anyone who reads this can guess, it's a sore point with me based on experience.

I've never actually seen a bison, but I've eaten it, and it's delicious (bison, Guinness and mushroom stew, yum). I imagine an aurochs or its domesticated gene-descendant would taste similar...
