5. I've been part of Can-Con's organizing committee in years past. Even on our much smaller scale, getting it just good enough has never been an easy thing.

1. Distress at the appearance of plot points from the movies in what is otherwise a lark about the book. Book-Merry and Pippin didn’t trick the Ents into anything.

5. Wow, how much more difficult this job is in our new all-electronic days. In my day, when ballots were on paper, there was no coordination with registration software. Reg gave us a printout and we checked off voters by pencil. There was no nomination software; we used 3x5 cards. Preparing the software for the final ballot was just a matter of typing in the finalists’ names.
