Oy on #2.

I wish you (and all folks in the UK) luck in the getting in a government that actually helps people.

Hm. If people care about pushing Con to second, maybe we should also focus on pushing labour seats to LD (assuming any seats already labour aren't likely to go Con). Secondarily to voting out Con wherever possible. I would probably rather a Labour/LD or Labour/Green parliament than labour alone (although I am focusing on "anything but the current government" atm).

Oh yes, sorry, I meant, "of the conceivable outcomes with a labour victory", I didn't mean Labour/LD would be my dream government out of any conceivable combination.

I'm not sure what WOULD be my ideal. I would like way more green, but I'm not sure I'd like the green's to go from where they are now to a government majority -- that learning curve is likely to be a bit TOO steep. And anyway, I don't think there's enough candidates TO win that many seats. I'd certainly hope for them to make as many gains as they reasonably can though. And if I'm wishing, I guess I'd get Con and Reform wiped out. And SNP get as many as Scotland think is appropriate, I'm not in a position to judge. And I guess, Lab and LD divide up everything else somehow. LD/green would cover most of what I want, but I don't know if Green would stick economically left enough or not.

I think the question was asked in the wrong way - it's a big leap from "Yes I would be willing to pay more tax to fund the NHS" and working out how much spare income one actually has to pay it. If I were answering the survey I would probably put down £100 as it would not require me to make a big commitment of time to the question. In practice I could probably pay a lot more and would be willing to do so if everyone else at the same level of earnings were paying the same. You then ask "But how much more?" and I reply that I would actually need to do a lot of working out to get to a sensible figure.
