1) I couldn't get access to the whole article, but one reason Romney is retiring is that he's 76 (and clearing his throat loudly at Biden and Trump).

Just to make sure I understand, you opened https://archive.ph/ and then, in the box titled "I want to search the archive for saved snapshots" you entered the link you want to see - https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2023/11/mitt-romney-retiring-senate-trump-mcconnell/675306/ - and then pressed the "search" button and it then sent you back to the previous page?

(I want to make sure I understand the exact sequence of actions you took so I can help with whatever the issue is.)

If you entered that link into the save box then I'd also expect it to work, so if you did that then also let me know.

No. I got stuck at "opened https://archive.ph/"

That link - the one in your comment - I click on, or put in the search box, and it grinds away and I never actually get to the archive.ph page.

I just checked and it's still doing it.

I tried it on another browser, same result.

That's fascinating! The only thing that I can think of is that your ISP is blocking that site.

Me either! I'd basically given up on it. I'm glad they're still working to improve it.

I found that disabling all Javascript on the original page let it be displayed - I've been noticing that works on a lot of pages that are otherwise blocked (including ones that ask you to disable your ad-blockers).
