Khi and Bekka arrived home at 5am, briefly waking me. I got up at around 10am and chatted to people (including Bekka's mum) until 1:30-ish, when myself and Ed wandered off in search of the nearby beach (which I'd seen on the beach, but never managed to walk to). Turned out to be Portobello beach, which I had no idea was so close. We wandered back and forth and chatted about cabbages and kings and the things we liked and disliked about Star Wars (pluses - some nicely subtle plot, minuses - some abysmal dialogue).
I headed back for 3pm, which was when Andy (Marianne's husband) was supposed to be arriving. He finally turned up at 4:45, 15 minutes before we were due to head over to Guy's for cards. Apparently he'd become confused by the fact that every road in the area is called Loganlea something and had spiralled in circles for an hour before calling me...
We chatted while me, Andy, Khi and Ami (another old Uni friend) bussed to the end of London Road and then wandered through the train station to Guy's flat. Cards was played and I managed to not lose too abysmally for once.
I then walked back, chatting happily to Andy about Iraq and the NHS and politics and suchlike. It was hugely enjoyable to have someone to talk about these things in person with. I chatted to Ed about it afterwards and decided I'm going to make an effort to seek out people who are interested in politics and economics and the world around them. Not sure how yet, but we're looking into it.
And now to bed, the joys of work await me tomorrow!

It must depress him that I don't.
But then, my skills & talents lie in other areas, heh heh.
