A note worthy thing in the small print of the Scottish independence poll is that, even with Don't Knows left in independence is polling 52%.

1. Good news indeed on that front. I expect it'll move the Overton window further in humane and helpful directions.

2. When I look at the opening image of the protest signs, I am reminded that there's one slogan that the movement has to ditch right now: "There is no Planet B". Because we all know that (a) exoplanets are real now and (b) various people are trying to figure out something akin to warp drive, also for real. The environmental movement has to shift the "Planet B" slogan to saving those other worlds from our worst-behaving people before we figure out ways to get to and from them safely.

That aside...it's progress in nailing down where Scotland wants to be and how they want to get there. I like that, so far as it goes.

6. Grifters are gonna grift, right? The Republicans knew what they were signing on with when they took the Trump on.

I am amazed that the Republican Party are amazed that it has happened to them, but I think one of the guiding principles of the Republican Party is that it should happen to other people, so perhaps they have developed a blind spot.

Give people the interview questions in advance

It's worth reading the comments, because a surprising number of people have said "as a deaf / neurodiverse person, this would really help me".

And while some people have (reasonably) said that this requires the interviewee to spend time ahead of the interview researching answers to the questions, I think most interviewees who aren't 100% in the "wing it, see what happens" camp will have spent time researching potential interview questions. (I interviewed for jobs in the last few months, and I know that I did stuff like that.)

It would also be useful to track the incidence of "long COVID" against the kind of medical care that the sufferers did or did not receive, to see if there is any correlation. It would be useful information for future pandemic planning.
