THe only gomboc I had ever come across was a Hungarian plum dumpling (very tasty), I had no idea that it was a mathematical Thing too! It would make such a perfect fiddle toy. I rather fancy this porcelain one, though it would need to be a lot cheaper to catch on globally. I should try making the pastry one day too.

Yes, I would definitely agree that "lack of political will and decisive leadership" is our problem in the UK. Unfortunately we elected our current government on the basis that they promised to deliver Brexit, not that they were actually capable of either doing that or indeed fighting an epidemic. Both testing and tracing have been ineptly delivered and neither actually works for enough cases.
