Although I'm sure Christine (who I've known for years) would agree with me when I wonder just how many more times we have to explode this particular myth!

The UK probably has the ability to acquire many vaccine doses but their plan for distribution, um, let's say it leaves something to be desired:

"Do not buy Hewlett Packard printers"

Well that's good to know. I have an old HP laser printer that I don't anticipate dying any time soon seeing as I barely use it but I've never been impressed with HP's policies and software. Comments recommend Brother.* makes note to self*

I have a Dell laser printer myself. Never failed me, though it does give the occasional hard time, mostly with wifi connectivity; besides that it's been pretty much flawless for 3+ years.

I have a very basic Brother laser printer, which was reasonably cheap on Amazon. It is a good printer - prints black and white, two sided, no bells or whistles. It has very expensive ink cartridges and when it thinks you need to replace a cartridge it stops printing. (There is a workround on YouTube, it's just a bit faffy).

I had read up about the disadvantages before Covid, and decided that we didn't print enough to worry about the expensive cartridges. Then I ended up working at home and doing a lot of printing, and needing a lot more cartridges. (This doesn't actually make a difference to me as my work will pay for them).

The other thing that has changed is that we used to have a Cartridge World round the corner, who would refill your old cartridge for a lot less money than buying a new one. Now we don't.

I hope this is useful information.

My spouse transitioned, and then transitioned again. Not a case of regret, just moving on to a new stage in life.

The HIV news would be huge. Far more so than any COVID news in the long term.

Are muntjac deer edible, by pets, if not people? The New Zealanders turn their pest introduced possums into pet-food and fur hats/coats/winter boot lining, sweaters etc. From the smell of my cats' food, they're probably quite tasty. Kangaroo is delicious, and I'm sure wallabies are too.

Pretty sure Muntjac deer are as edible as any other deer. Am also prepared to eat wallaby if necessary to save our local wildlife.

I think I saw one once, on the grounds of a National Trust Stately Home. They're the little, cute ones, right? Should be nice, roasted slowly like a whole lamb....

USian voters: 146 million narcissists and (still) counting *bows*

Also, how did they *not* include voting as a political activity? That's like surveying how many people use silverware to determine who likes food.

ETA: a few more paragraphs down they finally mention voting does not correlate (general elections) but does correlate (midterms). They never specifically say they surveyed on voting, though, only that there's a correlation or isn't.

I dunno, running countries tends to not work out so well without active and confident participation by potential and actual voters so I think the entire idea of it indicating (or not) someone's narcissistic tendencies might be specious at best.

Last time I saw a wallaby, out rambling in Derbyshire, was more than thirty years ago.

There's always talk that some recent hard winter killed them off, but they keep on reappearing.

It's *really* disconcerting when you glimpse them.
