I remember the story of Patrol vessel! Vs! Cruise ship!

Apparently, there's another, more recent instance of a freighter surviving a Greek navy ship...? Let the HS Kallisto serve as another object lesson.

I think historic buildings should be used as homeless shelters and low-income housing.

I'm no sure that they're necessarily that suitable for conversion. I saw an article (maybe in one of Andy's links) recently about the disastrous conversion of office buildings to low cost housing. But in this case it seems that an alternative perfectly good use of the building (as a school) had been approved.

That's a fun article about London underground. Construction piercing a tube tunnel - yikes!

And lots of good news in this set. Thank you.

I've been thinking a bit about that white paint since I spotted it and what one coudl do with it.

The obvious thing to do with it is to paint the roofs of buildings in hot countries and improve both the comfort and energy efficiency of the buildings. I suspect that in hot energy intensive countries like Australia or the south-west of the USA you'd see a several percent reduction in overall energy demand and a flattening of the peak demand.

But! What else can this white paint do for us?

That might be a fun thing to think about.
