I have completely changed my view of Tony Blair since the combination of Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of the Labour Party and the events surrounding the EU Exit referendum. Yes, he did some things that I very much wish that he had not done. But for me a much more powerful frame is that the left wing fails again and again by attacking one another for faults and harms that are very, very minor in comparison with those on the right, whilst right-wingers ultimately pull together when it matters. So I am now no longer willing to give any airtime to criticisms that fuel that discourse (of either the more left-wing or more centrist factions) because there is no morally perfect option here but for me the harm done by repeatedly speaking out is much greater than the harm done by remaining silent.
