I do like my "men's" jeans. On the other hand, the flip side of this is that I almost have to buy men's trousers, because most women's trousers assume that waist/hip size difference.

Having to buy men's jeans is less irritating now that I live where I can plausibly try on LL Bean jeans, rather than guess which styles will fit.

Puzzled by statement that tonality is universal, since I always understood it as a musicological given that scales in different cultures are entirely unalike, and listening to the music tends to confirm this.

Woman in men's trousers: Marilyn Hacker made the same discovery in the 1960s when trying on a pair of her husband's trousers. Said husband, Samuel R. Delany, tells this story in one of his essays, to point out how different perspectives can be even within the same culture.
