I'm not sure digital clothing is any stupider than any other digital art; I wouldn't pay that much for anything so frivolous, but then I'm not mega rich. I certainly pay for art sometimes, that has no use other than looking nice (but less than that much)

Well said. And it's certainly not any stupider than whatever else rich people (and some not so rich people too, let's be real) spend their money on. What actually really bugs me about it is that it looks badly photoshoped. But to each their own.

This looks like a logical extension of fit-prediction software (which lets you check whether an outfit you are looking at on-line might actually fit you). I can see it being used in high-end clothing. A high-tech version of the dolls that French haute couture houses used to send to their top clients, wearing doll versions of that season's models.

It's also not a lot different from gamers buying in-game items with real money.
