Haiku
cat purring on lap
I type with only one hand
she demands them both

That's not haiku. That's just a poem. =)
Haiku has a reversal of meaning, or other clever bit, in the last stanza.
Something more like:
I have two hands
But I type with just one
Cat on lap
Would be better. Though it needs more syllables, obviously.

I checked three 'introduction to Haiku' sites before typing it.
I should have a reference to season in there, to be traditional, but reversal of meaning isn't one of the things any of them mention.
checking my "Haiku of Basho" collection, none of the first five there seem to either.
