This one I don't get. Cars will get you there, but otherwise they're a nuisance. Finding a place to park, and then paying for it, is the biggest one. And some of those things people say they do in their car, I can't do in a car. Change clothes, for instance. If I want to change my shirt when I'm out in a car, I can't manage it while seated in the car; I have to get out of the car and stand up. In which case the car's only service is to provide something to hide behind, which it's not that good at.

Using cars for things other than driving

That's a sign the city is sorely lacking in urban spaces like parks. Look at some of the uses those cars are being put to: eating, resting, or just thinking. We desperately need public spaces other than roads and parking lots, and they're increasingly rare in a world obsessed with, wait for it, cars. When the only place to have a little space and peace is in a car... people are going to use a car. It's as simple as that.
