No one seems bothered by alpha male competitiveness as long as it isn't drug enhanced so what are the authorities scared of? Alpha females?

The athletics authorities have already made it almost impossible for trans people, now they are going after intersexed folks.

Since when did they get to define who a woman is?

This is good news, and I wish I could buy the daily hardcopy edition locally given how much use I've found in their web service. I don't know if they'll be legally able to organize a Canadian division like they've done for the US and Australia because of CRTC ownership rules. They'll likely have to license out the brand name. Assuming they can find someone with sufficiently deep pockets and like-minded editorial stances here.

I haven't read the article, but yes, people have noticed that Brexit will hammer financial services. That's why financial services have been shifting out of the country and the Tory party has lost the confidence that they are the party of business. Neither of these lost things are coming home again any time soon, regardless of what happens next.

Firefox and Opera. Is writing code that only works on one browser another one of those little jokes that I don't get?

OK, so I loaded up Chrome - which I almost never use - and read the thing. I got the references in the first and last questions, of course; are the others in response to real incidents? (In particular I know nothing about the Eurovision song contest except that ABBA and Riverdance came from there.)

Not so much a joke as browsers being complex, and developers being somewhat lazy.

The middle one is presumably Dana International, who was a trans Israeli singer. And presumably got a lot of racism thrown her way.
