Does the C of E yet understand what a tiny minority it now is?

Fwiw, my own experience back in the day with the C of E in which I grew up sent me into the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) who actually do get it!

It's not clear to me from the BBC article if the Church of England are saying "people should be celebate before marriage" or "we should support celebacy as a legitimate option for people".

Yes, me too.

Other parts of that statement seemed pretty positive about sex - as part of a mutually respectful relationship - and a gift from God to enjoy with love, which seems a pretty reasonable position for a religious organisation to take.

Big difference between celibacy should be actively promoted and celibacy is a legitimate choice that people might make. I can get right behind the latter.

Yes - asexuals exist and have the right to have their choices respected. However, this shouldn't be be part of anything remotely like:
- inserting God into your sex ed curriculum
- promoting abstinence as a way of preventing STDs and pregnancy

people who aren't ace may also choose celibacy, if they want to, and pressure to have sex when you don't want to is bad regardless of why you don't want it.

Rev Genders? Nominative determinism, much.

University vice-chancellors are paid far more than public sector peers
The ironically named Nigel Thrift, Warwick's previous VC, was on £332k by the time he retired. Plus a £92k retirement bonus, and a retirement dinner that cost more than I actually got paid that year. (As a part-time teacher on a casual, hourly-paid contract, some years my teaching salary barely cleared the tax threshold - but things are better now.) His successor is on about £270k at the moment.

A Doctor Who fan has not only made a police box, but a *whole control room* too. And they're linked!
That looks awesome. I'm glad that there are people out there who do this, even if I don't really have the inclination or spare time to be one of them.
