- A couple of hours outside Yangon, the country’s largest city, U Aye Swe, an administrator for Sin Ma Kaw village, said he was proud to oversee one of Myanmar’s "Muslim-free" villages, which bar Muslims from spending the night, among other restrictions.
"Kalar are not welcome here because they are violent and they multiply like crazy, with so many wives and children," he said.
Mr. Aye Swe admitted he had never met a Muslim before, adding, "I have to thank Facebook because it is giving me the true information in Myanmar."

Date: 2018-03-13 03:15 pm (UTC)Other parts of that statement seemed pretty positive about sex - as part of a mutually respectful relationship - and a gift from God to enjoy with love, which seems a pretty reasonable position for a religious organisation to take.
Big difference between celibacy should be actively promoted and celibacy is a legitimate choice that people might make. I can get right behind the latter.

Plus a £92k retirement bonus, and a retirement dinner that cost more than I actually got paid that year. (As a part-time teacher on a casual, hourly-paid contract, some years my teaching salary barely cleared the tax threshold - but things are better now.) His successor is on about £270k at the moment.

That looks awesome. I'm glad that there are people out there who do this, even if I don't really have the inclination or spare time to be one of them.
