The author of that article needs to learn how many children lost eyes/hands/feet or died at work before the introduction of the child labour laws...

& if we're not to over-tax the planet, we need less children anyway...

also: historically, children who were working in domestic service away from their parents were very vulnerable to physical abuse and sexual abuse.
