Date: 2016-08-10 03:44 pm (UTC)Given they are instead going to give users a lot more control over what ads they see and they are an ad funded site, I'm not going to be upset about what they're doing—of course, I'd rather they gave me a "pay us to see no ads" option as well but that's not the way the world's gone.
A site like FB that's always been ad funded, was set up to be ad funded and that tries to give you control is in a far better position to complain about/circumvent adblocking than media companies that've outsourced their ads to 3rd party CDNs that aren't secure enough to prevent attack vectors posing as ads, etc.
