I am disgusted to see this very-old-in-internet-dog-years article recirculated without any critical commentary from its reposters. It was thoroughly dissected and refuted six years ago. That whoever has now started Weingrad's turd going around again did not trouble themselves to include any links to the discussions and refutations it prompted that time is provocative, verging on deliberate erasure.
On her blog, in 2010, Farah Mendlesohn came up with the same names I just did off the top of her head, meaning they aren't so obscure as all that, and commenters added many more. Here.
Crikey, people! Don't just gulp it whole because it's pompous and authoritative-sounding. Do a little critical thinking. Essentially this thing was a puff piece for Lev Grossman, nothing else.
