I just did a slightly more precise calculation, and assuming they launched the afternoon of the day the movie came out, maintain a constant speed of 55 mph

But it won't have a constant speed, gravity will speed it up as it gets closer to the sun.

The car is _clearly_ unaffected by gravity.
