I sorta like that Hobbit article, but...

It's written by one of those insane Tolkien purists who think Bombadil should have been in the films. Even Tolkien regretted including Bombadil FFS. Some of the points made were valid, but so much of it was "why isn't it exactly like the version in my head from reading the book too many times" and not actual critique of the films as films.

And then I tried to read the comments, and realised the OP isn't half as bad as some of his cheerleading readers, and my brain froze.
