Santorum! For the internet lolz!

I worry that Santorum might be electable. I'm about 95% that Romney will be the nominee, but if Santorum won, enough idiots and crazy people might vote for him to cause a problem (unlike Ron Paul, who thankfully has no chance of ever being elected president).

I keep thinking that one day Republicans are going to wake up and realise that guy is fucking with them, that he's a massive troll.

I mean, just look at his NAME. "Rick Santorum". "Rick" is an alternate version of "Richard" and "Dick" - which means he's "Dick Santorum".

The dude is seriously, literally, out in the open claiming his real name really and for truly is PENIS SEXPOOP, while running as a Republican, and yet the Republicans still haven't figured out that he's trying to out-wacky them and make them look like idiots? Dude's Borat, but has kept the act up for years.

(I may be over-explaining, but) You know the internet meaning of "santorum" is a direct response to the politician, right?

My explanation is better.

Worked between Xmas and new year, but office is closed today -- back tomorrow.

Had to get up early so I could call the OU at 8am when they opened (after staying up till silly am watching flatmate play Resident Evil and partaking of an associated nostalgia trip), so I'm a bit sleepy to have any opinions on the Republican candidates as yet ;).

In that case, with my brain automatically prefacing 'evil' with 'resident' today, I say Albert Wesker for republican nominee :).

Oh, it has to be Santorum. Anything that keeps Dan Savage's neologism campaign in the limelight.

With m-g starting nursery this week, I've taken additional holiday to oversee his induction. Although judging by the sound of wind outside, I imagine that the company Incident Response committee would be about to send everyone home in any case.

Technically my answer is 'I'm not back yet', though yesterday I pondered just not going back at all until clients start yelling at me... :p

Santorum for the reasons you gave. And I *should* be back in today, but I'm on a phased return to work because of stress-related illness, and took today off because I feel rubbish.

Paul, because he's the missing link between Goldwater and LaRouche and about as electable as either.

Don't want Romney, as he's just another corporatist in an empty suit and if anything the candidate most favoured by the military-industrial complex to keep the status quo, and certainly don't want Bible-bashing loon Santorum because the Murdoch and Rove machines might actually get behind him if he finds his way onto the ticket. America would be like The Handmaid's Tale under Santorum.

I'm not sure I really care who the Republican nominee is. I should probably find out more about them all and have an opinion, but I suspect that might just make me cross.

I am unemployed. Officially now, since I've finally got round to filling in a JSA form, though really I've been actually looking for a job since September and being a kept woman (doing a Masters) since we got married.

In theory today will be my first day back to work, but in practice I need to make certain that the buses here are still running... the local news is saying we got 30cm of snow last night and it's still coming down strong. If the buses aren't, I'm getting another (albeit unpaid) day off.

As for GOP candidate, I'd pick Paul as he's utterly unelectable and still funny as a joke. Romney has a chance if his own right wing doesn't eat him, and I'm tired of hearing about Santorum.

-- Steve will now return to slurping coffee and crawling the Interwebs to see if he can make it to work.

I said Romney because I think he's the most electable of the three, though I'd still prefer Obama to any of those assclowns despite my serious reservations about his performance to date, so in light of that... I'm torn between which assclown (Santorum or Paul) is worse. Probably Santorum. (I changed my vote to Santorum, for that reason.)

As for the second Q, today's officially my first day back, though my boss asked me to be available on the first and second in case a few customer holdouts needed emergency firmware upgrades (due to a bug that kicked in on 1/1/2012, that they opted not to upgrade in advance of and/or renew their service contracts); I didn't end up having to do anything, but she gave me two days of comp time off the record for staying local/available.

Surprise me.

Answering "Who is the least electable?" is prone to backfiring, because the American public has a way of failing to meet low expectations.

Answering "Who is the least odious?" is also challenging, because I fully expect each candidate to break specifically the one or two PR character traits that make them less odious than the others. For example, I fully expect for President Ron Paul to increase the power of the US central government and wield it like a fascistic club because he'll think of himself as sufficiently moral since he used to be opposed to it on paper.

I'm not back at work until the 9th, but that's because I'm still signed off after the whole cholecystectomy thing. I'm not entirely sure whether I would have been back Tuesday or Wednesday otherwise, due to some confusion about holidays between our Edinburgh site and Nottingham site.
