Afloat with Anatidae

We went swimming this afternoon, which is one of the things I love Center Parcs for - warm pools of various kinds, both indoors and outdoors, no matter what time of the year. Two ducks had decided that one of the outdoor pools was a suitable pond for them to take a break in, and happily paddled back and forth. Pesky humans occasionally tried to shoo them out of the water, but they're a lot more mobile than we are, particularly in water, so this was amusing to watch than it was effective.

Last night we went for a walk around the lake, to the inn at one end of it (where we intend to eat tonight - we cooked steak the evening we arrived, went to Cafe Rouge the second night, and went to a spa yesterday, on a package which included dinner along with three hours of lounging in steam rooms and water beds). We watched people paddling back and forth in boats, and then the sun setting, while Julie drank hot chocolate and I had a rum and coke.

It's all rather relaxing.

I had never heard of these Parcs, (being a Yank and all that.) They sound lovely.

There are some great places like that here in Northern California, but most are geared towards adults, (Disneyland is in Southern California.) My favorites are on the Pacific Coast, either in/around Big Sur State Park, near the CA/OR border, and around Carmel/Monterey.

are julie's eyes and hair always that dark and i'm misremembering again, or a trick of the light?

Her hair colour varies, and is very-much dependent on the light on it. Right now it's kinda coppery, and there, with the light behind it, it looked a bit darker.

Havent been to Centre Parcs for years, but I loved it when I went.
Maybe I need to gather a group of people and get one of the tree houses with all the perks sometime. When its not full of kids!

It's finding a time when it's not full of kids that's tricky! It was fairly full this week, presumably because it's the last week of school, so nobody cares if they miss it.

It was a lot quieter when we went last time, which was a September.

Going with more people does sound like fun. More chance of finding people that like the same things!
