I am, oddly, not feeling like I have much to say, or at least not feeling the urge to share with people.

Still reading a lot, but the urge to post (or even to comment) has dropped quite a lot.

It's slightly frustrating to have this happen when I'd decided to write something each day, but it's hardly the end of the world.

Completely off topic, but here's an article about the Kenyan mobile banking company I was talking about the other night... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-11793290

I know the feeling, the not having the urge to post, and there is as you say a certain element of sod's law about it, that it turns up when you've decided to post more. Me, I've tackled it by being pig-headed and powering through, not letting myself be bothered if sometimes I only write relatively banal short entries. I've also rejigged my internal rules slightly to count private posts so that on days when I really don't want to share, I can still write something and have it count towards my one-a-day, even if it isn't visible to anyone but myself.

Of course, everyone's different. I wouldn't worry about it. We'll all still be here when you do get back to having the urge to write again, I'm sure.

Oh, just wanted to add - if anything has been suffering greatly from my not being terribly enthused at the moment, it's Twitter. With that at the moment, I'm reading what I catch at the time, and not bothering to catch up on what I miss (while sleeping, for example). I do reply to others if I have something to say, but in terms of writing any original tweets myself? Not so much. Oddly I'm more worried about being banal and uninteresting on Twitter than I am on LiveJournal.

Dumb but obvious question - how's your general mood and motivation levels these days?

I'd say write privately, for yourself, and if anything does come out that you then want to share - then great! If not, then you are at least still expressing yourself.

If you don't feel the need to even write for yourself, then you either truly have nothing to say (which I find is generally a good sign, tends to mean life is well and happy) or there's something(s) you are struggling with/denying/don't want to make real by putting it into words. Or just think needs suppressed rather than expressed.

[obvious disclaimer - this is how I find it with me - YMMV]
