This was my day, how was yours?

I finished work at 6-ish, and decided to order takeout before leaving so that it would arrive shortly after I did. And then, for the first time in forever, the bus stop near my work was blocked off by two ambulances and a police van. I didn't get close enough to find out what was going on.

Normally I'd have walked home, as it's only half an hour, but with food on the way and a sick Julie collapsed on the sofa I caught a taxi instead. She had her latest meeting with her supervisor today, which usually means four days of ultra-stress beforehand, and then total bodily collapse, as whatever disease she's been holding off through sheer willpower pounces on her drained form.

So we sat on the couch, ate chinese food, and watched the Jimminy Cricket episode of Once Upon A Time, which I am still enjoying the craftsmanship of, as it slowly pulls together the story, introducing characters bit by bit, filling in the details that the writers have clearly worked out. There was a nice moment when it turns out a guess I made about the content of Mr Gold's shop turned out to be horrifyingly accurate, and I was delighted when it turns out that Jimminy's dalmatian is called Pongo. Because I'm a sucker for things like that. Also, Robery Carlyle continues to steal every scene he's in.

I am still at work with an hour and a half left. Then it's off to the sword hall for some Half Sword work until about 7:30 when Cortejo picks me up and we zip off to an SCA thing in a growing group in a near by city. It will be a long day.

I had my sewing class and I made a thing. I can now use a sewing machine! Sort of... Then I came home and read comics. Then I buggered about on the computer a bit and made a Lib Dem Awkward Squad graphic. Then I read some more comics (Honestly, Vertigo's Fairest should be done under the trades descriptions act. If you've advertised for months that your comic is going to concentrate on female characters, not even having one appear till the second to last page is sucky, especially when she's "asleep" till the very last panel...) and then I et a bag of crisps, and now I'm going to go make some food for everyone else.

Walked Morgenstern to nursery and improvised a Peepo Fairy story with her. Strangely "Big Brother Peepo Fairy" needed rescuing AGAIN. Came home. Drank coffee. Wrote 4K words.

Cooked Texmex for Frau Hau and beans for Morgenstern.

Kurtzhau returned from swimming and tea at [child I call after the pyramid builder]'s. Helped Kurtzhau design a board game for his maths homework.

Now having difficulting seeing straight.

worked, got wound up by work, drove 18 miles to the supermarket to get some food, came home, ate a stir fry with the cat watching ST:TNG. Sorry not very exciting :)

It is rather well made but Mr Gold does steal it somewhat.

work, tidying, baked beans on toast, now knitting and game of thrones

unintentionally woke up 5ish, had leftover pizza for breakfast, and went to work an hour earlier than normal. spent most the day upgrading a server to Centos 6 and resolving rpm dependencies in nonstandard video packages, and helping a colleague get started with some new blade servers. came home early then went to badminton. now hanging up washing and contemplating second dinner.

Today I discovered that the world's best alarm clock is a fly that buzzes loudly past your face every few seconds, and elects to land on any exposed body flesh that hasn't already been tucked under the covers.

And because I'm currently on holiday, I got to discover this at least twice.

Woke up later than I should, fixed a few things for work over the next few hours, procrastinated whilst waiting for things to download. At 5ish played Portal 2 for an hour and a half with Finn and then played Badminton for an hour followed by drinking at the 9A until closing time.

Got up too early, felt crap, waited on electrician, chatted to electrician while he stared at shower in bemusement, had lunch, went back to bed, got up again, had dinner, went to roleplaying, enjoyed the wonderfully therapeutic properties of spending time with friends pretending to kill lots of annoying enemies, had my character's dignity thoroughly dented by being beaten by another swordswoman and dumped in a lake, swore vengence, came home, went to bed, read some of Generation A, went to sleep, got rudely awaken at 4.30am by the cat throwing up...
