We're just back from dinner at Chop Chop, where we had their unlimited banquet. It was fantastic, and we ended up having everything twice. Right now my stomach is sore from eating so much, but it was so amazing that I was having real problems not having one more dumpling, or a little more crispy northern chicken.

The conversation was also very good, ranging from how to fix [livejournal.com profile] cairmen's whipper (don't ask), to the predictions of farming in Diablo III. All in all a good evening out. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] werejud for organising it.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to lie down and groan a lot.

this is where Yee's Hung Ga usually have their Chinese New Year meal - and yes, it is quite terrific.

my Steam client is randomly working again, so I'm hoping it holds out long enough to try Diablo III. And hoping Blizzard drop the bloody daft online requirement.

Which Chop Chop and how was the service? We've had two crap experiences at the one in Leith so now stick to the original but have found they attempt to be deliberately evasive when you order the a quiet. We were here on Tuesday and it took three reminders before the Nortern Beef finally materialised and The Pork Dumplings weren't as quick comng either, I'm not convinced its as good value wth more than three people as they add an extra dish or two per person but still bring out the same dishes. So Roy and I on our own can do two full reorders ple 2-3 'thirds' but when there were five of us ths week I don't think we managed a full reorder of everything as a couple of the dishes none of us liked.

I think our problem is we don't ask for a full re-order. As we have to change the shellfish out of our initial order because of my allergy, which once when we did a full reorder caused chaos as they brought prawn to us. So now we only reorder the stuff we enjoy - the aubergines and the cucumber salad don't really get consumed soa full re order wild be wasteful. Whilst Kirsty can eat three plates of the pork dumplings on her own!

Were you discussing the RPS thing about the Diablo 3 auction house not having real-money for in-game item functionality in South Korea and the effect that will have on the game?

People paid for horse armour DLC in Oblivion, even on PC when it was one of the most modded games that there is.

Mass Effect 2 had a several DLC costume packs and that's single player only.

Actually, I paid for a costume pack DLC in City of Heroes to get extra outfit options. While this was an MMO, I didn't really have much interest in what other people thought of my character and was making outfits that I thought looked good, so that probably counts too.

Amounts that seem small in people's heads, regardless of whether they really are or not :-D

I'm pretty sure that people would happily buy 10 DLC packs that cost 99p each over a few months than they would buy one single mega-DLC pack costing £9.99.
