The trippy one with Charlize Theron beats the funny one with Julia Roberts!

1) The huntsman is Thor. I didn't notice the first time around.
2) I actually thought it might be Charlize just from the voice. She does an excellent west-coast american accent, but here she can't use that, so a few South African vowels come out. The words "fought", "cause", "wall" show it.

Snow White and the Huntsman is basically Stardust, so we might as well go for Snow, Glass, Apples instead.

yeah. this isn't Stardust, which I have seen and read many times.

I'll totally watch both, but Snow White and the Huntsman is a lot more like the story I read as a child.

What? I was a weird child!

I'd probably enjoy Mirror, mirror very much as it seems like a fun movie, but I chose Snow White and The Huntsman because it seems like a more interesting take on the story. Wasn't an easy choice by any means though.

Well, gee, um, I dunno, all I can hope is they come out at a time when I can see both to judge.

Well, y'know, one's for kids and the other isn't. So it's like comparing poisoned apples to poisoned oranges.

From the trailers I get the sense they are trying to be very different movies.

A bit like Shrek versus Lord of the Rings?

I was so set on *Mirror, Mirror* after seeing the first trailer because I just adore Nathan Lane...he's awesome! But after watching the second trailer, I had to choose *Snow White and The Huntsman*. Charlize Theron gives me chills, she's so intense in almost every role I've seen her play. And that new boy, Chris Hemsworth, looks like an up and coming Brad Pitt slash Heath Ledger type. Gotta check it out...in fact, after looking at his bio on IMDB...I may just have to check out *Thor*...sorry, guess it's the cougar in me, LOL.

I'm surprised the first one isn't coming out for christmas.

I thought it looked fairly dull until the stuff with SW fighting.

They're fairly different, so hard to compare. Would probably see the second if I had to choose.

I want to see both! But the huntsman film looks way cooler. Plus I might actually be able to convince Rob he wants to see it too.

Apples and different apples. Let us take a moment to just sit back and appreciate the fact that there are two movies coming out with two lead females each, sword fighting and generally taking charge of their own destinies. That Snow White is being retold yet again is unsurprising. That it's being retold in ways that give her more agency and more guts in both re-imaginings is refreshing. Even if they get stuff wrong (which they undoubtedly will).

My favourite fairy tale films are Enchanted and The Company of Wolves. I don't really like any others that I can recall. Maybe Freeway, but I've not seen it in a long time.

Of these two, Mirror Mirror looks a lot better because it is not OMG SPOOKY. Snow White & the Huntsman looks like they read a "what makes things spooky" cribsheet then cut and pasted from some music videos.
