He's a councillor. Making a remark like that in public, which is what twitter is, is absolutely not on. Though an arrest is ludicrous, yes. Talking about stoning a particular person is very different in my mind to talking about Doncaster Airport, which doesn't have feelings last time I checked.

It's absolutely not on - but that's a matter for Conservative central office, his local party, and his constituents, not a matter for the law.

Gadding is a great word, and should definitely be in more widespread usage.
