I don't understand why iPhones have a camera feature that could be used to take pictures or videos of children.

IT SHOULD BE BANNED.

Next tablet

Apparently LG have delayed production of their Android tablet until 3.0 is out, saying that "2.2 isn't the one".

I think the bluegrass Pink Floyd may have broken my brain :O

I don't understand why people get upset when Apple refuse to allow apps in their store. It's their store, they can do what they like with it. If people are putting resources into developing apps, they need to be aware of the risk that Apple will not allow it to go in the store.

You and me both. At the moment the iPad is the only contender for me for no other reason than it's the only decent tablet around.

Fair point on the App Store. I can't really make any decisive arguements against as I have an iPhone, but I am concerned about the completely inconsistent behavior displayed by the approval team and the App Store in general.

The William James zone -- wow. How come I didn't know about this? How come everyone doesn't get taught about this? Why doesn't Sesame Street have a song?

I have quite a long zone. I can still be grumpy and wound up even though I consciously would rather not be.

I like that the 'Listen' link changes to a red flashing 'Stop' after you click it. It should read "Stop! STOP!"

Apple are evil, and I won't go near them.

Also Jules and I both loved the dog video!

I've read comments at NPR about the Brazil story, and there probably should have been more emphasis on two other things the Brazilian government did-- slowing (stopping?) their increase of the money supply and pegging the real to the dollar. Still a fascinating story, and I'd like to know how the Minister of Finance who didn't know anything about economics (how did he get the job?) happened to choose sensible people who'd been working on the problem.

At this point, I'm also curious about how other countries dealt with bad inflation problems.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] nancylebov for pointing that out!

I didn't realise it was all done in one shot, I though it was just good CG (i.e. CG done so that I can't tell it's there). The fact that is just makes it an order of magnitude more amazing.

This is a long way from the first bluegrass Pink Floyd covers I've heard. I don't think that The Wall is a very good candidate for the treatment, though.

Lots of groups have done one or more songs from Dark Side of the Moon.

Here's a rather decent version of Brain Damage, from Dark Side of the Moon: Dark Side Of The Moonshine.

Here's a far more peppy version of the same song.

They did the whole album, and I gather this was some sort of, uh, concert tour?

But, yes, I liked it and would have paid to see it.

That bluegrass cover of The Wall made me happy on levels I can't explain.

Ordered.

It did break my brain. I gave it a fair hearing, tried different tracks, then Brick in the Wall just made me say "noooooo".

you know, I knew that a small amount of ethyl alcohol wouldn't hurt a fetus. It's impossible to eat ripe fruit without getting some ethyl alcohol.
