I lose track

I blame the end of cheques* - I haven't had to actually write (or type) the year at all in months, so I haven't gone through the whole process of writing "2010" and then having to scribble it out to write "2011" instead.
*I haven't used a cheque in a couple of years. I assume my chequebook is somewhere in my flat, but fuck knows where. Last time we needed to pay builders/plumbers/etc. I just did a direct bank transfer.

I went to check my bank account at lunch and discovered that on Saturday two lots of £15 had been used to buy pre-pay mobile credit from O2.
As I have no O2 phone (or other related device), this was somewhat surprising.
I spent 10 minutes on the phone to the bank, sorting it out. They're passing details onto the fraud team, and have cancelled my card (new one with me in the next five days). And only momentarily tried to sell me a loan.
No idea how it happened - currently assuming that someone got my card details from an insecure website. Not hugely worried about it either, just glad that I checked the recent items on my statement (online banking FTW).

Jan. 24th, 2011 02:29 pmSpent the weekend doing the very last of the painting. Which has taken _forever_, partially because we've been exhausted, partially because we've been covering over multiple colours of paint, which needed multiple coats, and using two different colours, so we've had to let things dry at the edges before moving onto the adjoining parts. Oh, and move the TV from one wall to another, which required that wall to be painted first, and prevented the wall it had been on from being painted until it could be moved.
Anyway. Done. Joiner coming tomorrow evening to give us a quote for sorting that and telling us what we can do with the fireplace in the middle of one wall.

daisyflip's birthday drinks. Wednesday is Brian's birthday drinks. Thursday I'm briefly seeing star_tourmaline and then stealing her Macbook to put a proper operating system on it. Friday we actually have to ourselves, and then Saturday Julie gets time off from me while I go play board games with old university friend "Big Neil" (so named for being built like a stereotypical viking/biker) and others. Not sure who those others are, having left it in his hands. On Sunday Julie and I actually get a whole day to ourselves, and next week I'm currently avoiding booking stuff into (except for regular gaming on Tuesday, and a board gaming evening on Thursday). Mostly, I just want to go for a long lie down...
