As some of you know, my delicious links were originally syndicated onto LJ as a different journal: [livejournal.com profile] andyduckerlinks.  which still seems to have 49 users reading it.

It doesn't get many comments, and I always found it tricky to keep up with conversations there, as I didn't get emails telling me when people had commented, and that was a big part of the reason I moved over to having the links splat into my journal instead.

So it always surprises me when people leave comments there rather than in my journal - and especially when something catches people's attention there, but not in the link post.

The latest one being the one where Positive Thinking can make people worse if the positive thought is so far from a negative person's actual viewpoint that they don't just reject it, but they defensively back away from it.  Only a little conversation in the comments, but it delights me that it happens - and frustrates me because I know that most of the people reading my main journal won't see it.

I've seen a couple of discussions recently of violence against women and attitudes towards it.  Someone (and I can't find the original comment) asked if things were so bad that women ought to be grateful when they _aren't_ raped.

And here's a report from South Africa, in which it seems that 25% of men admit to having raped someone.

That's 1 in 4 people _admitting_ to rape.

And if the rapist is over 25 then there's a 25% chance they have HIV.

I'm feeling distinctly shocked.
