surliminal will undboutedly be using this video in her next talk. Meanwhile over on a different journal, sadly friends locked, we're discussing the ramfications of universal surveillance in everyone's hands (a topic which has fascinated me since I first discovered The Transparent Society). Let's just say that in the future everyone will know everything about everyone, and we're going to have to learn new social rules on how to live with that. I'm _hoping_ that it will lead to more understanding and politeness, as we realise how different, and yet similar, we all are. I'm terribly aware that that's just a hope though...

Lib Dems turn down a coalition. And nobody will dare share power with the Conservatives.

So it's a minority SNP government for the next few years. And we won't get a referendum. Which is a shame, because the answer would be a solid "No." and then we could get on with our lives.
