When I quit a piece of software, unless there's something important it has to ask me (like "Should I save this document") it should simply remove itself from memory, releasing any memory/disk space/network ports it was using at the time.
What it _shouldn't_ do is display 5 screens telling me how great it is, ask me if I want to buy some other products from the same company or (most recently annoying) play a sample saying "Goodbye".
If I'd wanted to hear anything more from the software I wouldn't have quit it in the first place!
