How I've been spending my morning

I've been reading Harry Potter and the Methods Of Rationality.

It takes as it's starting point - what if Harry's parents had been rationalist scientists, and works forward from there. Which is both funny and eye-opening. It's a fantastic critique of the series, combined with an introduction to lots of ideas about the way people think.

I don't usually read fanfic, but this was just fantastic.

Harry's mother wasn't a rationalist or a scientist.

Certainly not as much as the father - but we don't actually know a lot about her beliefs. He certainly seems to have been raised in a rationalist household.
