Oh god the psychopath is adopted. I've read about this pitfall in adoption. Psychopathy is inherited. Psychopaths are likely to breed thoughtlessly, then abandon or otherwise lose the children, who then go up for adoption. Wonderful.

We began opening presents. About halfway through Lucas got angry and started throwing things. He had to be taken to his room. After a while he calmed down and we finished with the presents. Of course there were a lot of clothes and socks, which he desperately needed, but there were also a lot of nice toys that any normal 6-year-old would be thrilled to get.

I wonder if its fair to give children socks and clothes when they're young, you buy presents for people because you think they'll like it, kids in my experience, generally don't care about clothes or socks!

Having read through that psychopath blog, I'm a little uneasy. There are inconsistencies, yet the child's behaviour is apparently textbook (also, the parents don't exactly come across as stellar tbh). Are you fairly confident it's for real?

I often wondered if this blog is true, myself. And if it is, there is an uncomfortable sense that the parents really love when they are right and the kid exhibits bad behavior. I understand the need for vindication and black humor in terrible situations but those two push it to an extreme that makes me question their parenting and their overall decency as people.

No idea if it's real. But if it's faked then they've put a hell of a lot of effort into it over a long time.

And the fact that the parents are clearly not perfect parents was one of the things that made it seem more likely it was real to me.
