Bah, they should count themselves lucky the law isn't applied on a blanket basis to all employees in all registered charities receiving tax breaks or gov funding, whether clerical or not. By rights it should be.

It would certainly make for an interesting test case... Unfortunately people - even secular types - are still strangely wrongheaded about religion in this respect. There's a deeply ingrained mental block there.
