An open letter to Rush Limbaugh

Dear Mr. Limbaugh,

No, forget the dear. You've been a bane to me since first I heard your voice. If you're dear to anyone, I hope they get help. Anyway. Rush:

Do you know what I would do if I were walking by a collapsed building and heard you inside calling for help? Never mind whether or not I knew it was you. Let's assume that I did know it was you. Do you know what I'd do? I'd call emergency services, and then I would get down on my hands and knees and try to dig you out. I'd dig until my fingers bled and my knees were torn. I'd fan in air and pass you water and I'd stay and keep you talking until the people with the equipment could get there to help you. Why would I do that? It's not exactly as if you've ever done anything for me. In fact, you've done an awful lot to make life harder for people like me, and people like people like me, for years. Why would I help you? Because you're a human being, you ignorant, paranoid, bigoted jerk, and no one deserves to die like that. No one. Not even you. So shut the fuck up.

I agree, but I don't think I could even be arsed to call 911. Instead I'd probably point and laugh.

You don't know Mark Eitzel (listen to him on Spotify, he's wonderful) but his most recent Facebook status said this:

"I called Pat Robertsons Prayer Line.(1 (800) 759-0700) to tell them I thought his comments about Haiti were 'Heinous'. In hindsight perhaps I could have been more eloquent. The odd thing: the nice young woman seemed actually shocked that I called. Perhaps the trouble is they never hear negative reactions to the hate they pour on the world.. Maybe they really don't know. I think I'll become a regular caller"
