In my experience, complaining is like a drug-- there's an optimal dosage.

I found that if I paid attention to whether complaining made me feel better, complaining four or five times about most things was as much as it took, and after that I was merely repeating myself to no good effect.

I complain less these days. Occasionally there's an annoyance I don't complain about at all.

Evidential Issues in Rape Cases - the best thing I've read so far on today's rape case.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm always saying. I've found it gets you eviscerated by a certain brand of person.

Also, I think there's a difference between complaining with the hope of affecting change, or achieving a better outcome & just bitching.

I often see people who do too much of the latter & not enough of the former. (An example would be were someone at work behaves badly & it would be legitimate to call them on it(complain directly), but instead of doing that, the injured party bitches to 5 of their mates.)

Google Wave guy - sounds like he simply needed a ticketing system. We use bugzilla in precisely the same way.
