We couldn't remember the name of the Chinese we'd ordered from and both liked, but we could remember which road it was on.

So I fired up Streetview and "took a walk" until I found it, and then read the sign to get the name of the place.

I did this last time as well, and I meant to post about it - but ljarchive is telling me I didn't. Sorry if this is a dupe.

LET'S GO

-------------- I've never seen that sort of spam on LJ before.
From: [identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com
I've had it on occasion. I usually just report the account, they get banned soon enough.

I did it as well, with a bit of luck this'll spur them on!

And then your friends start adding their own spam: http://zornhau.livejournal.com/111940.html

Look out for the contributions from EE Knight, SF writer.

I've done that for my favourite corner deli in San Francisco. Walked around for a few hours in bed until I found it :)

LMAO, I'm sitting in work giggling at that whole entry(even if the intellectual bit made my eyes glaze over). Resisting temptation to google mars bar party as I want to have a job on Monday!

It was one of those PC-gon-berserk tabloid stories. A primary teacher (i.e. teaching under 12)was imparting the facts of life to a class of inner city children. "Any questions?"

"Yes miss - what's a mars bar party?"

What she should have said was, "Sometimes grown ups like to be silly with food." What she should not have done is give a full description...

I tried to have a look at the opening times of a shop without a webpage. (It didn't work that time, but it did give me that "living in the future" feeling.)
