According to the Science Fiction Book Club, these are the 50 most influential sf books.

I've read 34.

You could have been -slightly- less lazy and posted the list on your livejournal.

given that I -know- you read pages by highlighting the text, it wouldn't take much to cut and paste it as you read it.

It's not as if it's that long really.

And I've read some of them, and am very glad not to have read others.

Damn, I was impressed that I had read 11, and I do realise that I have Joe to thank for at least 6 of those....but then I read how many other people had read, and now I feel worthless.

BUT>>>>>>at least I buy my fave big brother the coolest birthday presents EVER!!!! so, y'know, the whole thing kinda balances out really.

I know rounding to the nearest is in order, but where is the 0 option?

I know, heathen!

I've read eight.

And I can't believe they didn't put the tripod trilogy thing on there. You know the one I mean...

Goodness, I feel like I should have a huge blinking neon arrow pointing at me flashing "GEEK GEEK." I wish I could chalk it up to having good taste in books. But it isn't. It's that I'll read almost anything as long as it's words on the page. *sigh* I'm so easy.

I've read 35 and am pleased that almost all of the books I haven't read I looked at and decided they weren't something I had any interest in reading (the only exception is Children of the Atom, I'm guessing that book hasn't been in print for many decades. I also don't agree with some of the choices - Sword of Shannara, I flipped through that book as a teen and decided it was devoid of all talent and interest. From talking to others, it's clear I'm far from the only person holding that opinion. I felt that same way about Snow Crash, but I seem to be in the minority wrt that book.

I completely agree. I watched the first portion of this series on video and loved it, just as I loved the books growing up.

13 of those, I'm fairly certain I've read. Others, I may have but don't recall for sure.

Does it have to influential to be on such a list? Road House didn't influence shit, but its a damn fine movie.

Yeh, I know you all secretly watch it when it comes on Channel five late Sunday night. I see you.

LJ ATE MY POST!!!!!

Only 23 for me. A lot of it is stuff that strikes me as old-fashioned (in a bad way). I really can't get to grips with a lot of 50s/60/70s SF.

Oh and a lot of them are fantasy novels - I assume they meant to cover fantasy and not just science fiction.
