Date: 2009-07-31 01:11 pm (UTC)Oh yes, of course. With a track record like that of the Quakers, I was bound to miss at least something major off the list.
I was very pleasantly surprised (as a devout agnostic) a while back to learn that although the Quakers have their origins in Christianity, the movement has grown considerably beyond that, to the point where there are not only Friends from other religions, but also that being agnostic or atheist is not considered a bar to membership. I don't know, offhand, of any other Western religious tradition which doesn't have "believing in God" as a mandatory prerequisite.
