Updates on the last two Potter movies

It was already public that the final book is being split into two halves - but what I didn't know was how it was going to be done:

Looks like the first half is going to be a road movie, and the second half will be all battle sequences. Which sounds like a lot of fun to me :->

Hrm hm.

I am personally of the belief that the road sequences in that book are among the most boring things ever, and also that while the battle sequence is pretty kickass as a climax to the book, I don't see how it can sustain a whole movie. Plus, the absolutely-without-question best parts of that book were neither on the road nor in the battle, but the glimpses we got of the fascist-controlled Wizarding world under Voldemort's regime. The scene at the Ministry was one of the five best in any of the books IMO, and the tiny scenes in Hogsmeade (as when Hermione is dressed as Bellatrix and is accosted by a bloodied wizard whose children have been stolen) are super effective.

So I don't know where those will fit in the story arc if the arc itself is split into two. But I am not sure I am a fan of this.

I have to agree that the road trip portion of Deathly Hallows is desperately boring. This doesn't sound like a good idea to me, but I'm willing to believe that they will pull it off.
