Children who live in homes with vinyl floors, which can emit chemicals called phthalates, are more likely to have autism, according to research by Swedish and U.S. scientists published Monday.
The study of Swedish children is among the first to find an apparent connection between an environmental chemical and autism.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the world's largest performing arts festival, has been cancelled for 2009, according to Kath M Mainland, Chief Executive of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society.

Plus, it would have been a lovely opportunity to hang out with my Edinburgh friends. Oh well, more money to spend on other stuff, I suppose!
