New job description

I think that from now on I'll demand that my job name be in German rather than in English.  That way I wouldn't be a plain old Software Developer, I'd be a Softwareentwickler.

When I first started to visit Germany, I'd read labels and signs out loud to learn how to pronounce things. I was having lunch with some people, and things got a little awkward, so I pulled out the first thing I had to read out loud. Unfortunately, the first thing I found was a receipt for my photo processing that I'd dropped off earlier - farbnegativentwicklung. Youch.

I never forgot the word, though ;) And now that I'm more familiar with the individual parts, it all seems very easy to me.
