What's most interesting is that you can see both short films made by the director here.

Both are interesting - but more "Look! I can direct movies!" set pieces than actual films. Worth taking a look.

Sounds like the usual difference between short film as short film and short film as showcase reel. The credits for The House on Dame Street reminded me of the Monty Python Timmy Williams skit, where everything is by Timmy Williams. Would be interesting to see an Akira remake / reinterpretation.
